If your van is an important part of your business then the last thing you need is for it to break down, right when you need it most. No one wants to miss a potential business opportunity or run the risk of upsetting valued customers. Only the question is, with so many policies out there how can you be sure you find the right one for you?
Here at Commercial Vehicle Direct we’ve made the choice easier by teaming up with RAC to offer a level of cover for almost every eventuality. Whether your vehicle has broken down on a country lane and needs a new part, or if you need a replacement vehicle until your own van is back on the road, then the RAC have the expertise to help.
Why should I take out breakdown cover?
Our breakdown cover offers one of the highest levels of cover you can get for vans in the UK. You’ll also get five call outs within the year and depending on whether your vehicle can be fixed on the roadside or needs to be taken to a garage, you’ll have the peace of mind that your vehicle is in the best possible hands and that you will be back on the road in no time:
The RAC will either:
Fix the vehicle: our priority is to get your vehicle repaired so that you can drive off and continue with your day without any further disruptions. The RAC patrols will attend the breakdown, regardless of whether you are stuck on the roadside or at home, and will aim to fix your van on the spot.
Recover the vehicle: If your van can’t be repaired there and then, there’s no need to panic. Both you and your vehicle will be towed or taken away to a garage or place where it can be fixed.
Provide a courtesy vehicle: While your van is being fixed, you can make use of a courtesy car for both personal and business use. This is a great benefit if you need to travel back and forth to the garage, and can’t risk being without transport for your work. You can even pay extra for an upgrade if you need a bigger vehicle or van. If you’ve broken down away from home and need to stay in accommodation overnight, you will be reimbursed for an overnight stay, or alternative transport can be arranged.
It’s vital that you check what is covered before you take out a breakdown policy, as some levels of cover will only provide roadside assistance or tow the vehicle away, meaning you could be left without transport for a few days.
Remember, if you’re still unsure we’re on hand to talk through your options so that you can make the most informed decision suited to your specific needs.
