Second-hand van prices fall for October
Second-hand commercial vehicle prices fell once again last month, market analysts have revealed.
According to Manheim Auctions, the average wholesale price for a used van dropped by £139, or 4.7 per cent, during October to just under £2,800.
The statistics will be viewed as disappointing by dealers, following the £135 rise experienced during September.
Alex Wright, sales director for commercial vehicles at Manheim, commented: "Although disappointing, this decrease does bring the average value back to what was reported in August.
"A fall of this magnitude is in line with seasonal expectations."
The drop in wholesale prices may come as good news for those looking for a second-hand bargain, but those not in the market should still be safe in the knowledge that they can save money by switching to a cheap van insurance policy.
Earlier in the week, Volkswagen posted impressive worldwide sales of nearly £5.3 million so far this year.
