Hauliers demand fuel parity
British commercial vehicle drivers have once more voiced their dissatisfaction with the current high price of diesel.
Representatives from the Road Haulage Association (RHA) have noted that despite the recent drop in price of petrol, the costs of diesel remain relatively high.
To this end, the organisation has demanded not only an emergency reduction in price of diesel, but also for the chancellor to abandon any plans for a cut in petrol duties at his pre-budget statement.
Head of communications for the RHA, Kate Gibbs, commented: "It is essential that we seek parity in price.
"Hauliers and diesel motorists alike are now paying among the highest prices in Europe for their fuel, while at the same time, seemingly being penalised for driving
eco-friendly vehicles which produce far less CO2."
In the past, diesel drivers have increasingly been forced to make savings elsewhere, such as by switching to a cheap van insurance policy.
