Ford scoops industry award double

Commercial vehicle manufacturing giant has scooped two major industry awards, it has been revealed.

At the recent ACFO awards ceremony, the US-based firm picked up accolades for its Transit and Transit Connect models, winning the Fleet Light Van of the Year and Fleet Panel Van of the Year prizes, respectively.

Ford's director of fleet operations, Kevin Griffin, commented: "We have ensured over the years that any product being the Transit brand delivers up to and beyond customers' normal expectations.

"We are aware that there is a great deal of choice in the marketplace and to be voted best Fleet Panel Van and best Fleet Light Van … makes us very proud."

Commercial drivers often choose vehicles manufacturer by Ford because of their excellent reliability and economy, while safety-conscious motorists usually have no trouble securing a cheap van insurance policy.

It was announced earlier in the week that BP would be launching its own Van Fleet Efficiency Awards in the near future.
